2010 Toledo Memory Walk
COME JOIN US! Sunday, October 3, 2010 at the Toledo Zoo (Anthony Wayne Trail Parking Lot). Registration starts at 10:30am and the walk begins at 12 noon. If you have a Zoo membership, please remember to bring it!
Memory Walk is a free, family friendly and fun event open to all community residents to advocate for those suffering with Alzheimer's disease and for those who care for them, while raising funds for the programs and services of the Northwest Ohio Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association. Most of these programs, offered for free to families and individuals effected by Alzheimer's disease, are free. That is why events like the 2010 Toledo Memory Walk are so important.
The Northwest Ohio Chapter provides such services as support groups, helpline, two adult day centers, a safe return program and educational services for both effected families and industry professionals. As the largest population in the United States continues to age, the diagnosis of Alzheimer's and related dementia is on the rise. One in three people in the U.S. know someone who has dementia and over 32,000 people in our 24 county area have been diagnosed with this disease that impacts a person's memory, judgment and ability to reason, eventually making them incapable of caring for themselves.
