TOLEDO, Ohio – Girls and women of all ages will be enjoying a night out on the town while helping a local organization. Chicks for Charity, an informal group of more than 1,500 women who want to give back to the community, is hosting Chicks Mix ’10 on Wednesday, July 21 at the Toledo Botanical Garden from 5:30 – 9 p.m.

The event is open to the public, and girls and women of all ages are encouraged to attend. Tickets for the evening are $37 each, junior chicks 20 and under are $20, and all proceeds raised that evening will be donated to The Victory Center. To purchase tickets for the event or to learn more about Chicks Mix ‘10, visit www.chicksforcharity.net or call 419.241.2221.

“This always is a great night, full of fun and laughter,” said Martha Vetter, President of R/P Marketing Public Relations and founder of the Chicks for Charity organization. “We have toddlers and grandmas, business women and stay-at-home moms all coming together to raise money and make a difference in our community. It’s amazing what the women of Northwest Ohio will do to help the organizations that help our families and neighbors.”

Chicks Mix ‘10 will feature great conversation, appetizers and cocktails at the Toledo Botanical Garden. In addition, many fun and unique raffle and silent auction items from local businesses will be given away throughout the evening. A Victory Center representative will share personal stories on how their programs nourish and comfort the body, mind and spirit during the fight against cancer.

The Victory Center, located in Toledo, supports and educates cancer patients and their families by providing programs and services in our community. The organizations sole purpose is to nourish and comfort the body, mind and spirit during the fight against cancer. Programs that are offered include one-on-one therapy, counseling, yoga and gentle exercises and are held by licensed professionals with credentials appropriate to their specialty. The organization has been providing these free services since 1996.

Chicks for Charity is a group of women who want to transform the Toledo community through occasional fun lunches, happy hours and special events. Each Chick member organizes a fun, simple event with family, friends or associates to raise money that is then donated to the group’s designated charity. This is the fifth year for the organization. Previous organizations that have benefited from Chicks for Charity include Furniture Bank, Beach House and Assistance Dogs of America, Inc.
