20 North Gallery Presents Crafting a Response
Multi-media fine art exhibit by the Artists of Bittersweet Farms

Toledo, OH—July 14, 2010 20 North Gallery presents Crafting a Response: the Artists of Bittersweet Farms, an exhibit created by the Art Program participants at Bittersweet Farms—a service community for people with autism. Their vibrant and expressive artwork employs the universal language of art to create a powerful interpretive response to the world we all share. This exhibit is currently displayed and runs through Saturday, July 31st.

The exhibition includes paintings, collage, drawings, prints, ceramics, textiles and multi-media work. “The Bittersweet Art Program participants’ creative work not only serves as a therapeutic tool in managing their autism, but the finished art pieces serve as infallible and compelling statements of identity for our artists,” states Vicki Obee-Hilty, Executive Director of Bittersweet, Inc.

Participating artists are: Conor Walsh, Steven Henry, Marcus Churski, Phillip Morgan, Patra Smilo, Joe King, Bronwen Shea, Rodney Mathis, Patty Player, Charlie Atkins, Debby Shuer, Jerry Munoz and Jimmy Koch.

Bittersweet Artists, their families and 20 North Gallery will be welcoming friends and collectors at the Free Public Reception at 20 North Gallery on Thursday, July 22nd, from 6 - 9p.m., as part of the Art Walk Downtown Gallery Hop. Visitors to 20 North will enjoy light refreshments and the opportunity to meet the exhibiting artists and their families.

Sixty percent of all sales of Crafting a Response artwork at 20 North Gallery goes to support the Bittersweet Farms Art Program. The Crafting a Response exhibit will continue through July 31st.

The mission of Bittersweet, Inc. is to maximize opportunities for individual development of persons with autism by providing an array of premier services to individuals, and support to families.
