Calling All Quilters! You're Invited!
The Quilt Bear Online Quilt Shop is proud to sponsor a brand new monthly quilt club, “Party with Patrick!” If you are a quilter/sewer and want to hang out with other quilters in the area this club is for you! Every third Saturday of the month, beginning September 18 you are invited to attend a FUN, interactive quilting party featuring exclusive patterns and projects by Patrick Lose. Small, easy to assemble projects are designed for beginners to advanced quilters. Themed parties and special contests are also available to members. Cost is just $5.00/month plus the cost of the optional kit which includes all fabric to make the monthly project (usually under $20). Classes will be held in Waterville, OH and begin at 9:00am through 1:00pm and include light lunch/refreshments. The Quilt Bear online quilt shop is a brand new quilt shop owned by Mary Jo Blohm of Wauseon, OH and Matthew Boyd of Swanton, OH. The shop opened in March of 2010 and has been growing steadily ever since. With customers as far as Australia and as close as Delta, OH, The Quilt Bear caters to quilters everywhere.
“We want to bring fun, quality quilting fabric, gifts and supplies to everyone regardless of location and still keep our small town country look and feel,” states owner Mary Jo Blohm. “We also want to be involved with our local communities and meet with area quilters. By starting the Party With Patrick Quilt Club we can do just that. I miss teaching quilting classes and have been asked if I will begin doing so again, and the answer is YES! YES! YES! Look for class postings coming soon!”
One of Mary Jo and Matthew’s priorities is giving back. “Through our Bear Hugs program we give 10% of all of our sales to various charities, including Breast Cancer Awareness, the PKD Foundation, the National MS Society and are adding more each month,” comments Boyd. “If you have a local charity you would like us to sponsor, please let us know.”
The Quilt Bear has had booths at several area craft shows, including the Delta Chicken Festival. “Watch our Events page to see where we will turn up next! We can’t wait to meet you!,” says Blohm.
