Marcy Kaptur to announce U.S. Dept of Education award to Toledo GROWs to pilot outdoor classrooms at Toledo Public Schools for hands-on, science-based curriculum in urban settings

Congresswoman Kaptur will join officials from Toledo Botanical Garden (TBG) – Toledo GROWs, Toledo Public Schools, Veggie U and neighbors from One Village-United North to announce a $300,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Education to TBG-Toledo GROWs to create “The School Garden Learning Initiative” fostering a hands-on, science-based curriculum via outdoor classrooms to be used in urban areas, within the Toledo Public School district.
