Women Blessing Women Received Oswald Supporting Grant
The Board of Trustees of the Oswald Supporting Organization of the Toledo Community Foundation has approved a grant to Women Blessing Women in the amount of $17,000.00. These funds will be used to support operating expenses.
The Oswald Supporting Organization grant will be used to further the mission of Women Blessing Women, a comprehensive job and empowerment program which provides opportunities to the women of our community to reduce their dependence on society through educational training, life and career skills that fosters accountability, independence, and self-sufficiency for themselves and their children.
Women Blessing Women is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization for women age 18 and over dedicated to empowering women living in poverty to achieve success, gain confidence and obtain living wage jobs. There is no fee charged for the organization's services. The organization serves all women without regard to ethnic background, race or religion. Women participants develop the tools needed to become self-sufficient and set personal, educational and employment-related goals to lift themselves up from poverty. Women Blessing Women is the only center in Northwest Ohio that provides a comprehensive, holistic program for women/mothers who live in poverty. The program is delivered through teaching and tutoring of GED; coaching, training and facilitating job readiness skills and spirituality.
The Toledo Community Foundation, Inc. is a public charitable organization created by citizens of our community to enrich the quality of life for individuals and families in our area.
