We Are…
A dance performance from Toledo School for the Arts
Toledo School for the Arts (TSA) presents We Are… an exploration of feelings through dance. The dance program will feature both junior high and senior high students and will be at Owens Community College Center for Fine and Performing Arts on Thursday, February 3, 2011 at 7:00 p.m.
From the studio of Kerri Wilde, a dance instructor at TSA since 2005, the students will perform original modern and ballet dances that explore the circumstances surrounding the emotions of fear, anger, sadness, happiness, and tranquility. Wilde explained, “Part of my dance therapy background was to help students deal with and get past feelings that come up in everyday life. The students identify strongly with these dances because these feelings are universal.”
Toledo School for the Arts offers many dance classes for grades 6 through 12, including ballet, modern, and ethnic. Dance is one of the four art disciplines that students can choose as their major at TSA. The charter school was rated excellent on the state’s report card for the past five years. TSA will hold an open house on January 22, 2011 to begin the enrollment process for next school year.
