Demand for Toledo Symphony Carnegie Hall Debut Tickets is “Phenomenal”: Symphony to request all 1000 NYC tickets and 100+ more

TOLEDO, OH – The Toledo Symphony (TSO) is pleased to announce that it will make a request to the Carnegie Hall box office for its full 1000 allotment of concert tickets on February 2nd.

The Spring for Music Festival has also graciously allotted the TSO 500 additional tickets to sell until the February 1st deadline. This is good news considering that the Symphony reports this Thursday that they have over 1100 people who have requested tickets to the performance.

“This is phenomenal,” says Toledo Symphony Marketing Director, Ashley Mirakian. “When we announced the trip over a year ago, we knew that many of our closest friends would join us in New York for this special moment. Only in our wildest dreams did the Toledo fans represent over a third of the hall.”

The audience in New York will be comprised of TSO subscribers and fans from all over northwest Ohio and includes over 300 alumni of the University of Toledo, BGSU and Maumee Valley Country Day School, who live in the New York tri-state area.

Additionally, AAA of Northwest Ohio has reserved three coach buses for the trip out east, and the travel company is making progress filling a fourth. 150 people have chosen this option, which includes a four-day/three-night New York stay and sight-seeing opportunities.

Tickets are still available through the TSO box office until 5pm on February 1. Tickets are only $25. A primary goal of the Spring for Music festival is to provide low-cost, highly innovative performances to all audiences. The $25 ticket price is emblematic of this goal.

“We are thrilled that not only will Spring for Music be welcoming the Toledo Symphony to Carnegie Hall but apparently most of its loyal Toledo audience. What fantastic evidence of the community's extraordinary regard for its orchestra!" says Spring for Music Artistic Director and CEO, Tom Morris.

The symphony has an unofficial goal of 1400 TSO patrons at the May 7th performance. If this goal is reached, the Toledo Symphony will represent half of the audience.

“I think we can do it,” says Mirakian, “We have the best fans in the world.”
