ACGT seeking YAAW Instructors and Assistants?
Opportunity: The Arts Commission of Greater Toledo (ACGT) invites applications for?Art Instructors and Assistants to teach in a six-week youth summer employment program (June 27 - August 5, 2011). The holders of these positions will be expected to maintain excellence in instruction for the visual, literary**, or performing** arts
Program Description: The Young Artists At Work (YAAW) program provides young people (ages 14-18) with a paid apprenticeship to learn artistic and professional skills, under the direction of professional artists or instructors. Art Instructor Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a discipline related to art education or visual, performing, literary, or liberal arts is preferred. Professional artists will also be considered. Experience teaching youth from diverse backgrounds is desirable. For visual arts positions, studio experience is preferred.
Art Assistant Qualifications: College students majoring in a discipline related to?art education, visual arts, or liberal arts. Experience working with youth from diverse?backgrounds is desirable. Studio experience is preferred.
Job Description: The YAAW Art Instructor and Assistant duties include art curriculum development, planning and implementation of daily participant activities, group management, and assistance in youth recruitment.
