Christopher Paul Curtis’ book Bud, Not Buddy at Your Library
(Re-released February 9, 2011) – The Toledo-Lucas County Public Library is proud to partner with Dr. Imelda Hunt’s New Works Writers Series for a theatrical reading of the adventurous book Bud, Not Buddy by author Christopher Paul Curtis.
The book/theatrical presentation is set in Flint and Grand Rapids, Michigan and tells the story of 10-year-old orphaned Buddy, who searches for his band-leader father and finds his way home.
The presentation is scheduled as part of the Library’s Celebration of Black History in February:
· Saturday, February 12 – Locke Branch Library from 1-2:30 p.m. (419.259.5310)
· Tuesday, February 22 – Toledo Heights Branch Library from 6:30-8 p.m. (419.259.5220)
· Monday, February 28 – Mott Branch Library from 6:30-8 p.m. (419.259.5230)
Dr. Hunt’s New Works Writers Series is also scheduled to present Bud, Not Buddy during National Library Week in April:
