Central Catholic to Host Ohio State Dance Team Workshop
On Saturday, March 12, Central Catholic High School will host the fourth annual Ohio State University Dance Team workshop and competition. The full day workshop will run from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. with a cost of $40 for students age 8 to 18, or $45 for those over 18. There will also be a mini workshop for those age 4 to 7, which runs from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at a cost of $25. The OSU dance team will perform at 7:30 p.m. that evening in the CCHS Sullivan Center, and a dance team competition will begin directly after. Teams from Central Catholic and other area schools will be competing. The event is open to the public, and admission is $5. Doors open at 7:00 p.m.
Three Central Catholic graduates are members of the OSU dance team. They are Melissa Heintschel and Melissa McGhee from the Class of 2007, and Nikki Toland from the Class of 2008. The dance team performs at OSU basketball games, football pep rallies, and other public relations events to promote spirit on the campus. They also take part in a national competition in the summer.
