A Night on the Town That Could Tame Billy the Kid

Chabad House of Toledo is well-known for taking traditional Jewish holiday celebrations and enjoying them to the max, but throwing together a Purim party is a cinch. The guidelines for observing the holiday include hearing the story of Purim (also known as hearing ‘the whole Megillah’), giving gifts to friends, and enjoying a delicious feast and joyous drink with family and friends. Typically, both children and adults dress in costumes for the Purim gatherings.

This year’s theme whistles for a Wild West Masquerade. Guests have the opportunity to see themselves on a ‘Wanted’ poster drawn by a caricaturist. Adults and kids alike will have a blast with ‘Photoboothlive!” This interactive photo booth is an open space where party-goers can pose and take their own photos – which are then shown instantaneously on a screen for the rest of the party to see. Later, the pictures are available to download and print at home.

After hearing the Megillah read and enjoying a delicious buffet dinner, the crowd will be entertained by fast-draw comedic Juggler Crazy Craig and adults can belly up to the ‘L’Chaim Saloon.’

If paid by March 13: $12 adult/ $7 child ($45 Family Max)
After March 13: $15 adult/ $10 child ($60 Family Max

DON'T MISS THE FUN! CALL TODAY! First 99 paid individuals will be entered to win a Family Membership to the Toledo Zoo. 419-843-9393.

Easy Facts:

What is Purim? A Fun Jewish Holiday!
Purim celebrates the salvation of the Jewish people from Haman's plot to "destroy, kill and annihilate all the Jews, young and old, infants and women, in a single day." The plot was foiled by Queen Esther and a humble man named Mordechai. (Purim literally means "lots" for Haman determined the day of annihilation by throwing a lottery.) It is observed by public readings of the megillah - "Scroll of Esther," sending food portions to friends, giving gifts of money to the poor, and enjoying a festive meal accompanied with joyous drink.
