LIMITLESS: NY to LA
a contemporary dance performance from the studio of Alison Reny

Toledo School for the Arts (TSA) presents Limitless: NY to LA, a contemporary dance performance on Thursday, March 24, 2011 at 7:00 PM at Owens Community College Center for Fine and Performing Arts. This original production has two very distinct sections. Act 1 will take you to the bright lights of the Broadway Stage in New York City. Then Act 2 will transport you to the darker, mysterious, beautiful side of contemporary dance in Los Angeles. The production is directed and choreographed by Alison Reny and performed by her dance students of TSA.

This is Reny’s third year teaching at Toledo School for the Arts and her third season directing the Limitless Dance Company. Reny’s concept to feature the dance styles of Broadway and Los Angeles came directly from her role as a dance instructor at TSA. “This show will help define the difference between the two industries of musical theater and contemporary dance,” Reny said. “The students learn the two styles, but it isn’t until they experience them through application in performance that they fully understand those differences.” Limitless: NY to LA will include Reny’s advanced dance students who are part of her dance company, Limitless, as well as her beginning and intermediate students grades sixth through twelfth.

Alison Reny is the founder, director and choreographer for Limitless Dance Company. When she is not teaching or choreographing at TSA she can be found traveling around Ohio and Michigan teaching master classes and setting choreography for other studios. Alison teaches her students not only the art of dance and performance everyday, but also how to be a professional dancer and what to expect when they leave TSA and head into the real world!
