Teen Art Show at Main Library – Connect to Creativity
(Released March 14, 2011) – View fantastic artwork by teen artists from area schools, on view now through Saturday, April 16 at Main Library, 325 Michigan St., downtown Toledo.
Toledo area teens have returned to the Toledo-Lucas County Public Library for the 11th Annual Connect to Creativity Teen Art Show. The show features drawings, paintings, sculpture and jewelry made by local teen artists in grades six through 12.
The majority of the works these students have completed are on exhibit in the large display case near the Wintergarden, and a few of the pieces are on display in the Garage Level of Main Library. The exhibit, on view to the public during the Library’s regular hours of operation, showcases some of the finest youth artists the Toledo area has to offer.
Connect to Creativity gives Toledo teens the opportunity to present their art in a venue where it will be reviewed and praised by their families and the community. The show displays artwork from Lucas County teens and was originally the idea of the Library’s Teen Advisory Board – meant to highlight some of the positive things teens in our area are doing.
Artwork is on loan through the generosity of art teachers in our community who take the time to gather and submit students’ work they are proud to have inspired. The Toledo-Lucas County Public Library is grateful for all of their support and assistance in making this show possible.
