Maumee Bowling Event to Raise Thousands for Charity
Local businesses sponsor 7th Annual Rotaract Spring Strike-Out

For the seventh year in a row, the Rotaract Club of Maumee will raise more than $5,000 for local and international causes at the Spring Strike-Out Bowling Event on Friday, May 6, 2011. Generous support from local businesses such as William Vaughan Company, The Anderson’s and St. Luke’s Hospital has made this year’s event possible, along with donations and sponsorship from numerous other businesses throughout Maumee and the Toledo area.
Check-in begins at 6 p.m. and bowling starts at 6:30 p.m. at Timbers Bowling Lanes, 1246 Conant Street in Maumee. General admission is $20 per person and includes three games of bowling, shoe rental, Marco’s pizza and a raffle ticket (cash bar). Attendees can enjoy food and fun while supporting a good cause. This year our emcee is one of the voices of 92.5 KISS FM, Demetrius Nicodemius.

Proceeds support the Rotaract Club of Maumee’s service to local organizations, such as providing Christmas toys for the children at Mom’s House, sponsoring summer camp for students at the Wolf Creek YMCA and purchasing food for the Northwest Ohio Food Bank. National and international causes are also supported, including natural disaster relief through organizations such as the Red Cross and Shelter Box.
Rotaract is a Rotary-sponsored service organization for men and women ages 18-30. Through the Rotaract program, young adults address the physical and social needs of their communities while promoting international understanding and peace through a framework of friendship and service. As one of the most significant and fastest-growing programs of Rotary service, with more than 7,500 Rotaract clubs in 155 countries, Rotaract has become a worldwide phenomenon.
