Committee for Children Sponsors "Bids for Kids" Fundraiser

(TOLEDO, Ohio, April 1, 2011) — The Committee for Children is now selling tickets to Bids for Kids, its first-ever silent auction and fundraiser.
Proceeds from the event, April 28, 2011 at 5 p.m. at The Toledo Club, will support Lucas County Children Services’ upcoming levy information campaign. Lucas County voters must reapprove the agency’s 1.4 mill operating levy on the November 2011 ballot.

Bids for Kids features themed gift baskets containing everything from baubles to billboards donated by Toledo-area businesses and individuals. Highlights include a variety of wine and beer baskets; an “Eat Out for a Week” basket; baskets of “Family Fun;” “The Finer Things,” “The Professional Woman,” and more. The baskets incorporate items such as gift cards to area restaurants and destinations; custom jewelry; a Shiseido skincare system; a weekend Harley Davidson rental and a Blu-Ray player, among others.
