"Eat, Drink & Be Merry" Early Music concert May 1, 2011
Musica Antigua de Toledo will present the final concert of its 2010-2011 early music series, “Heavenly and Earthly Delights.” This concert, “Eat, Drink, and Be Merry,” will take place on Sunday May 1, 3:30 pm, Epiphany Lutheran Church, 915 North Reynolds Road, at Brandon . May is the month for merriment, and Medieval, Renaissance, and early Baroque music about spring pleasures--love, food and drink--will be performed. Voices and various combinations of period instruments, including medieval lute, vielle, harp, recorders, krummhorns, racket, viols and harpsichord, will be heard. The program will feature popular forms and composers of these period, such as Dufay, Morley, Schutz, and others.
Performers will include Alice Neff Petersen, Coordinator, Barbara Craig, Victoria Gentry, Carol Goodman, Sandra Kellogg, Andrea Kissell, Donald Jackson, and Andrew Phillips.
