Clifford The Big Red Dog ™ is coming to Sylvania Branch Library
(Released April 27, 2011) – He’s cute, cuddly, loves to hear children read to him, and did we mention that he’s very, very red? The Sylvania Branch Library, 6749 Monroe St., is excited to announce a LIVE APPEARANCE by Clifford The Big Red Dog ™ scheduled from 6:30-8 p.m. on Tuesday,May 3.
Sylvania Branch officials are hosting a Clifford The Big Red Dog ™ Party and you and your entire family are all invited to attend this FREE event!
Clifford will be present to entertain and have his picture taken with the children. Please bring your own camera.
Plus, you’ll be treated to games, treats, prizes and fun for everyone! Don’t miss out on this evening of fun for all!
The Clifford character is based on a series of books first published in 1963, written by Norman Bridwell. Clifford was the runt of the litter, and was chosen by a city child named Emily Elizabeth as her birthday present. No one expected Clifford to grow, but Emily Elizabeth's love for her tiny red puppy changed Clifford dramatically. Before long, he was over 25 feet tall, forcing the Howard family to leave the city and move to the open spaces of Birdwell Island. The book spun into a cartoon TV series.
