Sylvania Chamber Announces Spring Events
The Sylvania Area Chamber of Commerce announces its “Taking it to the Streets – Downtown Sylvania”, family friendly street festivals, sponsored by SHOP Sylvania and Sylvania Downtown Business Association will be held on Main Street in Sylvania on the following dates in May.
Thursday, May 12 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM – Spring Downtown Delights – local businesses will be open and feature special sales, refreshments, raffles and grazing.
Thursday, May 19 from 4:00 – 8:00PM – The unveiling of Potting Pretty and Sylvania Sprouts will feature activities that will include an auction of pots and local entertainment. The Best of Show awards for “Potting Pretty” artists will take place at 6:00 PM in front of the Chamber office at 5632 N. Main Street. Many of the downtown businesses will be open and local growers will be on site hosting a sale of flowers and summer accompaniments. There will be refreshments and loads of spring fun.
The sponsors of Potting Pretty are: City of Sylvania, Paramount Health Care, Lourdes College, SACIC, The Stansley Group, The Toledo Blade, WTVG-ABC-13.
Sunday, May 22 - 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM – The Sylvania Area Chamber will feature The Sylvania Car Show with an expected attendance of over 200 car owners. The streets of Sylvania will be closed from Monroe St. to Erie Street for this event and downtown businesses will be open. There are People’s Choice Awards and Best of Show Awards for car owners.
There will be on site refreshments and other activities will include entertainment by Mitch Kahl, Soul Venture and The Roof Tops and children’s activities. The sponsors of Sylvania Car Show are: Kingston-Sylvania, KeyBank & Vin Devers, K-100 and The Toledo Blade
