Auditor Collaborates With Agencies for Technology Upgrades
As Chief Fiscal Officer for Lucas County, Auditor Anita Lopez recognizes the budgetary challenges that counties and cities are facing across the country, and is pleased to announce that the Auditor’s office has collaborated with area government agencies for technology upgrades.
In response to public demand for the latest data possible, the Lucas County Auditor’s GIS (Geographic Information Systems) Division has added new enhancements to the Auditor’s Real Estate Information System (better known as AREIS) Online and the DVD Viewer. Revisions to AREIS Online include:
• Recently acquired new aerial photography;
• The addition of commercial sales information;
• An update of the levy estimator with information for the May 3, 2011 election.
The aerial photography project was completed in collaboration with the Lucas County Engineer’s office, the Metroparks and 911. By participating in this joint effort, Lucas County realizes many returns by sharing data in addition to substantial savings from acquisition costs. The color aerials were acquired from Woolpert, Inc. a Dayton, Ohio based company.
Encompassing approximately 340 square miles, the coverage area spans from as far east as Crane Creek State Park and as far west as Oak Openings Preserve Metroparks. The color aerial photos are one-half foot resolution and are at an accuracy scale of 1”=100’.
AREIS Online presents all publicly available real estate data in an easy-to-use online format. Over the years, this service has become an integral part of many business operations in the area ranging from public agencies to the private sector. It also provides 24-hour access to Lucas County property information for anyone on the public internet.
