Framers’ Workshop & Gallery Hosts Michael Provenza Demo
Michael Provenza’s special live painting demonstration will be held on Thursday, May 19, 2011, from 4-8pm at the Framers’ Workshop & Gallery located in downtown Perrysburg, 121 Louisiana Avenue (9am-6pm, Tuesday – Friday and 10am-3pm, Saturday).
Provenza’s newest original oil paintings will also be exhibiting for the first time on Thursday, May 19 at the demonstration. The artist’s extended art exhibit will run through the end of May at the Framers’ Workshop & Gallery and is open to the public during business hours.
Michael Provenza’s contemporary landscape oil paintings are truly surreal and joyful, as well as sophisticated in detail with a distinctive pointillistic style and blending technique, producing a genuinely original body of work that is of master quality. People are saying the artist’s work reflects the eternal complexities of nature with a fresh and exciting artistic vision. He captures the brilliance of simplicity of the countryside and the ocean. His scenery is remarkable for its suggestion of distances and aliveness.
With years of study, discovery, experimentation, and diligence, Michael Provenza’s recent body of work, Life’s Journey, retains an unmistakable visual identity encompassing the subject of Earth’s natural beauty and glory while introducing an ethereal theme. Often described as “realistic surrealism,” all of Provenza’s work invites you in to experience Life’s Journey – with a twist. “All of my paintings are an exploration or journey that I’d like to take in a world that comes from my imagination with pieces of reality sprinkled in,” said Provenza.
Born and raised in the San Francisco Bay area, Provenza lived, worked, studied, taught, and painted for more than 30 years. He holds a fine art degree from West Valley College, California. Now a resident of Perrysburg, Ohio, Provenza owns and operates ThreeTrees Studio, LLC, where he continues to produce original oil paintings as he expands upon his Life’s Journey Collection.
