Festival organizers have announced the lineup for the 2nd Annual Blues & Jazz Festival to be held Saturday, June 11th, 2011 at Centennial Terrace in Sylvania, Ohio.

FEED YOUR SOUL & FEED THE HUNGRY is the theme for the 2nd annual Blues & Jazz Festival! 100% of the monies raised will go directly to help feed the hungry in Lucas, Fulton, Wood, Henry, Williams, Defiance, Sandusky and Ottawa counties.

The Swamp Kings, a Toledo favorite, will kick off the evening with classical blues that is guaranteed to bring the crowds up out of their chairs and on to the dance floor. The Swamp Kings, 2010 Winner of the Toledo Blade’s Battle of the Bands in the Blues/R&B category, truly are professionals at entertaining a crowd. They are serious about sharing their fun and driven to bring a smile to every face and a swing to every hip in the place!

Next on stage, come take a ride with the vehicle; Ron Yarosz & the Vehicle. Being beat down, washed up, and run over is what set me on my way…” the opening line to the Hammond B3-heavy original song Breaking Point sets the tone for taking a ride with the Vehicle. The band has a deep well of original material to draw from and does their own versions of some of their most loved blues songs. Ron Yarosz & the Vehicle, winner of the 2010 Blues Society of Western Pennsylvania's Blues Challenge, is lead and fronted by Ron Yarosz who sings, plays Hammond B3 Organ, and an array of harmonicas.

Classic jazz will then be served up by Tony Monaco. Monaco is one of the hot new breed of Hammond B3 organ players making the jazz scene these days. Presently, Tony maintains the busiest world touring schedule imaginable, including festival appearances in Australia, Indonesia, Japan, Germany, Italy, Scotland, Holland and Spain, as well as Canada and the US. Influenced by Jimmy Smith, Hank Marr, Don Patterson, Jimmy McGriff, and Richard “Groove” Holmes, Tony is now taking the B3 to new exciting dimensions. Tony’s fourth album “A New Generation: Paesanos on the New B3”, features the brand new Hammond B3 and special guests, the Joey DeFrancesco Trio. Festivals, concert halls and jazz clubs all agree – Tony Monaco knows how to excite a crowd.

Topping off the evening, award-winning vocalist Janiva Magness is among the premier blues and R&B singers in the world today. Her voice possesses an earthy, raw honesty and beauty born from her life experience. A charismatic performer known for her electrifying live shows, Magness is a gutsy and dynamic musical powerhouse. The 2011 Blues Music Awards recently announced that Ms. Magness has been nominated for four awards to be announced on May 5th, 2011: BB King Entertainer of the Year, Album of the Year, Contemporary Blues Female Artist of the Year, and Contemporary Blues Album of the Year. She received the coveted 2009 Blues Music Awards for B.B. King Entertainer of The Year and for Contemporary Blues Female Artist of the Year, an honor she also received in 2006 and 2007. She has received eleven previous Blues Music Award nominations.
