INTERNATIONAL COFFEE AND TEA TASTING TO CELEBRATE WORLD FAIR TRADE DAY

Come and sample a variety of coffee and teas from around the world from 11a.m. to 1 p.m., Friday May 13 and Saturday, May 14, 2011 at All Good Things in the Franciscan Village. The Sisters of St. Francis of Sylvania, Ohio will celebrate World Fair Trade Day as a way to show solidarity with farmers and people across the world who want to increase opportunities for small producers in the world’s poorest countries to sell their goods.

“All Good Things here at Sylvania Franciscan Village sells many fair trade items. Fair Trade is a concrete response to poverty reduction, economic and global food crisis, as well as climate change,” Sister Sharon Havelak, Manager of All Good Things said.

World Fair Trade Day is a worldwide celebration supported by the business and consumer community, and by policy makers. In addition to sampling coffees and teas visitors can purchase fair trade items such as baskets and paintings from places such as Africa.
