Woodlawn Walkers
Toledo, Ohio, June 30, 2011- Enjoy the gardens and historical features of historic Woodlawn Cemetery and stay in shape with the Woodlawn Walkers program. Two Wednesday sessions will be held each week - at 9:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. - from July 6 through Nov. 16.
Each Wednesday strollers and power walkers alike are invited to complete the two-mile paved walkway that covers the perimeter of Woodlawn. There are no attendance requirements or registration fees for the walks, and every participant will receive a walking log. Guest walkers will highlight health and nature tips during the walks, and participants can enjoy the beautiful arboretum and historical architectural features of the cemetery. Historic Woodlawn Cemetery and Arboretum is a National Historic Site, with more than 160 acres of scenic and rolling hills. Woodlawn, a private, non-profit cemetery, has over 40 acres of burial space available, a mausoleum, crematory and cremation niches, and is open to people of all spiritual beliefs and ethnicities.
