Breitling Player of the Year Award
Mud Hens and Jeffrey Mann Fine Jewelers to Present Breitling Player of the Year Award!
Award recognizes outstanding community service…
(Toledo, OH) - The Toledo Mud Hens are pleased to announce that they will again be teaming up with Jeffrey Mann Fine Jewelers for the Breitling Player of the Year Award. This award will be presented at the end of the season to the Mud Hens player that exhibits the best in both on-field performance as well as off-the-field community service efforts.
It is the 4th annual award given to the Mud Hens player that goes above and beyond in the field of community service in the region.
The criteria for the award are broken down in the following categories:
· Internal Community Relations, ex: participation in youth baseball camps.
· External Community Relations, ex: hospital visits.
· On-Field performance, ex: feedback from team manager on player's field effort and performance (home runs, hits, steals, etc.)
· Off-Field performance, ex: effort at practice, extra time in the hitting cage, etc.
The Toledo Mud Hens will hold a pre-game award ceremony late in the season in which representatives from Jeffrey Mann and the Toledo Mud Hens will present the Breitling Player of the Year award to the chosen Mud Hens player. Jeffrey Mann Fine Jewelers and the Toledo Mud Hens will also recognize the 2nd and 3rd place winners.
In 2010 the award was presented to pitcher Scot Drucker.
