Visions of Beauty & Consequence
Space 237’s Summer Art Exhibition “Visions of Beauty & Consequence” will open the day of the Art Walk, Thursday, July 21, 2011 6:00 – 9:00 pm. There will be free refreshments, parking & admission. This exhibit runs from July 21 through August 26.
This exhibit features drawings by Ani Avanian & mixed media fiber by Sandra Jane Heard. The artwork is beautifully organic with natural tones and themes and requires close examination to fully appreciate the detail & messages of the works. Some of Ani’s illustrate the consequence of the world’s obsession with electronics and the problem of their disposal without regard to safety. Sandra’s work is also based on her observation of cultures. She uses organic forms & vintage found objects to depict the beauty she finds in the imperfect & fragile world around us. Gallery hrs: Tues-Fri, 11-5; Sat, 12-4.
