Name Your Price For On “Lonely Hearts Club” Adoptions

Summer is the Toledo Area Humane Society’s busiest time for cats and dogs looking for new homes. This Saturday and Sunday only, July 16 and 17, the Toledo Area Humane Society is offering a name-your-own-price on adoptions of our Lonely Hearts Club members. Lonely Hearts Club members are the cats and dogs that have been at the Humane Society for 60 days or longer and are still looking for their forever home.

This weekend only, you can name your own price, starting at $5, for our 33 Lonely Hearts Club cats and 4 Lonely Hearts Club dogs. You can find a full list of our Lonely Hearts Club members at toledoareahumanesociety.org under “Featured Animals”.

“We take in more and more animals each day, and we want to be able to help as many animals as possible, but we need the space to do so,” said John Dinon, Executive Director. “By offering a name-your-own-price on our Lonely Hearts Club members this weekend, we are hoping to be able to find forever homes for some of our longer stay animals. People save two lives when they adopt a new family member – the pet they take home and the one that takes his empty kennel.”

All animals at TAHS are spayed or neutered, have had a vet check, are up to date on vaccines and are microchipped. Normal adoption fees for our Lonely Hearts Club members are $50. Name-your-own-price rates begin at $5 per animal, but greater adoption fee donations are greatly appreciated and help the Humane Society assist other animals in need.

The Toledo Area Humane Society is open Tuesday through Sunday from 10am – 6pm. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization they are committed to the welfare of animals by providing temporary shelter and care while seeking permanent homes. Donations from local individuals, corporations and monies generated by fundraisers are the sole source of funding. For any questions please call 419-891-0705.
