26th Frogtown Regatta, Sponsored by Owens Corning
On Saturday September 24, 2011, the 26th Frogtown Regatta, Sponsored by Owens Corning, will take place on the Maumee River from 8am until 5 pm. There will be upwards of 25 rowing teams entering 300 or more boats with over 1400 athletes competing in the daylong head race. The three mile race starts upstream of Maumee Bay and finishes just about at the High Level Bridge. There are teams from six area high schools; St. Ursula Academy, Notre Dame Academy, St. John's Jesuit High School, Central Catholic High School, Anthony Wayne High School and St. Francis De Sales High School, as well as the club team of Toledo Metropolitan Rowing. Adults from Toledo Rowing Club will compete against other master rowers from 7 different states. Prime viewing will be from the Docks restaurants and International Park. We expect crowds of 4000 - 5000 spectators. Join us for a great day of racing and enjoy Toledo's greatest and most beautiful natural resource : The Maumee River!
