Two Library Series to Help During Difficult Economic Times
(Released September 7, 2011) – The Toledo-Lucas County Public Library is here to assist you during these difficult economic times. If you’re having a hard time stretching your budget, or want to arm yourself with vital information on home ownership or foreclosure scams, our two upcoming series titled Living Well on Less and Stay a Homeowner or Become a Homebuyer are for you!
These unique series, offered at Main Library, 325 Michigan St., and also at Heatherdowns Branch Library, 3265 Glanzman Road, are designed to assist you with finding creative ways to maintain a decent quality of life.

*Stay a Homeowner or Become a Homebuyer series:
· Tuesday, September 13 (6:15-8:15 p.m.): Foreclosure Scams: Don’t Be Taken! - (McMaster Center, Main Library) There are a lot of ads for companies that claim to help you deal with foreclosure. How many are true, and which ones are frauds? Hear state and community groups tell you how to avoid the hype, and get real help in keeping your home.
· Tuesday, September 20 (6:15-8:15 p.m.): Become a Homebuyer! - (McMaster Center, Main Library) Hoping to buy a home soon? Many opportunities exist if you are financially ready! Neighborhood Housing Services, the City of Toledo, the Northwest Ohio Development Agency and other community groups will discuss programs like the Neighborhood Stabilization Program and individual development accounts that can put home ownership within your reach.
*Living Well on Less series:
· Saturday, September 17 (2-4 p.m.): Living Well on Less! – (Heatherdowns Branch Library) Having a hard time stretching your budget? Find creative ways to help you and your family maintain a quality lifestyle on less money. This program is designed to help adults learn the concepts and the skills that can be applied to assist them.
· Saturday, October 15 (2-4 p.m.): Living Well on Less! – (Heatherdowns Branch Library) Here, we build on the lessons learned in September with another two-hour program on finding creative ways and skills to maintain a decent quality of life.
