Lourdes University to Host Series of Open Houses this Fall
Those interested in exploring Lourdes University’s many undergraduate and graduate programs are invited to attend the following open houses scheduled for this fall. These events will give prospective students the opportunity to meet faculty, staff and current students, while being able to explore campus and ask questions about Lourdes’ programs of study.
Tuesday, 9/20 – Graduate Open House: Liberal Studies & Theology
Franciscan Center, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
The first open house features the Master of Arts in Liberal Studies and the Master of Arts in Theology programs.
The Master of Arts in Theology program provides a solid theological grounding for individuals coming from a variety of Christian traditions. The degree meets the demand for theological preparation especially for those individuals active in religious education, lay ministry, and youth ministry, as well as those preparing to go on for a doctoral degree in theology.
The Master of Arts in Liberal Studies offers an intellectually challenging educational experience that provides opportunities for connecting and applying knowledge across the humanities, fine arts, social sciences and natural sciences.
Wednesday, 9/21 – Graduate Open House: Nursing
Franciscan Center, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
The Master of Science in Nursing program offer several options for nurses wishing to pursue an advanced degree: Nurse Anesthesia, Nurse Educator, Nurse Leader and RN to MSN.
Nurse Anesthesia – Graduates are prepared to fulfill the requirements to sit for the National Certification Examination in order to become Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists.
Nurse Educator – Graduates are prepared to teach in a variety of educational roles in nursing practice, including undergraduate nursing education and staff development programs.
Nurse Leader – Graduates are trained in advanced leadership roles in a variety of health care settings.
RN to MSN – This choice is offered to registered nurses who have graduated from accredited diploma or associate degree nursing programs who want to pursue the nurse leader option.
Saturday, 9/24 – Undergraduate Open House
McAlear Hall, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
During the Undergraduate Open House, students will learn explore Lourdes’ many academic programs, tour campus and student-housing facilities and meet with faculty, staff and current students. Additionally, Lourdes’ Office of Admissions will review and make final decisions on enrollment for students who bring transcripts.

Tuesday, 9/27: Graduate Open House: Education
Franciscan Center, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
The Master of Education program provides learning opportunities that address the professional development needs of today’s educator.
P-12 Reading prepares teachers for the Introduction to the Teaching of Reading Praxis II Specialty Test in order to be eligible for a P-12 Ohio Reading Endorsement.
Teaching & Curriculum provides K-12 educators the skills and dispositions needed to be successful in constantly changing and ever-diverse environments such as classrooms, schools and local communities.
Lourdes also offers the 4-5 Early Childhood Endorsement, as well as the new Teacher Leader Endorsement which requires an earned master’s degree to be admissible.
Wednesday, 9/28 – Graduate Open House: Business Administration & Leadership
Franciscan Center, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
The Master of Business Administration degree is a one-year intensive program primarily designed for individuals who have recently completed an undergraduate degree in business and are interested in further developing expertise and skills before pursuing a career in business or not-for-profit management.
The Master of Organizational Leadership program provides focused opportunities for leadership studies that build upon the foundations laid by baccalaureate education.The program enhances students’ critical thinking, higher order reasoning and ethical virtue as leaders.
