Performances continue this weekend and next of The Toledo Repertoire Theatre’s 79th season opener, Sherlock Holmes: The Final Adventure.

Adapted by Steven Dietz, and based on the original 1899 play by William Gillette and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Sherlock Holmes: The Final Adventure is the story of the world’s greatest detective approaching the end of an illustrious career when a case is presented before him that is simply too tempting to ignore. And this time with his trusted companion Doctor Watson at his side, Holmes sets off in pursuit, of more than just the case.

A King of Bohemia, blackmail, an opera singer, a photograph and a longtime adversary all add to this spirited, fast-moving and thoroughly theatrical adaptation and winner of the 2007 Edgar Award for Best Mystery Play.

Directed by Susan McCann, the talented cast features James MacFarlane as Sherlock Holmes, Mark McGovern as Doctor Watson, Zac Gilley as James Moriarty, Eric Simpson as The King of Bohemia, and Elizabeth Cottle as Irene Adler. Ben Lumbrezer, Maurice Price, Maggie Wielinski, and Ted Cowell round out the cast.

Remaining performances are September 23, 24, 29, 30, and October 1 at 8:00 PM with matinee performances on Sunday, September 25 and October 2 at 2:30.

Tickets can be purchased by calling The Toledo Rep box office at 243-9277, or visiting the Toledo Rep website at www.toledorep.org. The Toledo Repertoire Theatre is located at 16 10th Street in the heart of downtown Toledo.
