Breaking News: Kindle Users Join the Library Family!
(Released September 23, 2011) – The Toledo-Lucas County Public Library is happy to announce that eBooks, which are compatible with the Amazon Kindle eReader, are now available through its downloadable media page!
Most eBooks already in the Library’s catalog are compatible with the Amazon Kindle, and are free and accessible 24/7 by visiting toledolibrary.org today.
Patrons can borrow Kindle eBooks to read on any generation Kindle device, free Kindle app, or in their browser with Kindle Cloud Reader. These eBooks provide the same unique features as Kindle and Kindle books, including Whispersync technology that synchronizes notes, highlights and last page read feature, real page numbers, and more. Library users can simply browse or search for “Kindle Book,” check out a title with a valid library card, and then click “Get for Kindle.”
“Since the Kindle eReader device name has become synonymous with the ebook experience, we are so thrilled to be able to offer thousands of titles for our Kindle users,” said Tracy Montri, Library AudioVisual Manager.
Rest assured that the downloadable media collection can still be enjoyed by users of other eReader devices such as the NOOK ™ by Barnes & Noble or Sony ® Reader.
