Soraya Mire reading and book signing at People Called Women- Thursday, October 20th, 7-9pm

PCW is honored to welcome author and activist Soraya Miré . She is a recipient of the UN's Humanitarian Award, an award winning documentary filmmaker, and has appeared in "The Vagina Monologues" in London , NYC and LA. She's been featured on The Oprah Winfrey Show and articles about her have appeared in the New York Times, Los Angeles Times and Essence. She will be reading from her new book "The Girl with Three Legs," a searing account of female genital mutilation. This event is sponsored by People Called Women, Nirvana Now, UT Sexual Assault Education and Prevention Program and UT Women and Gender Studies.
