(TOLEDO, OH) – The Toledo Walleye ticket department has achieved a historic milestone on the heels of a successful Opening Night crowd of 8,250 last Saturday night. The team has sold 2,378 season tickets thus far for the 2011-12 season. This establishes an all-time mark of season ticket holders for any Toledo hockey franchise, dating back to 1947.
The Walleye finished the 2009-10 season with 2,160 season tickets sold and finished the 2010-11 season with 2,335 season tickets sold.

Furthermore, 120,335 individual tickets have already been sold for this season, the third season at the Huntington Center for the ECHL franchise.

As evidenced by the standing-room only crowd on Saturday at the home opener, Walleye fans have continued to show strong support for the team.

Assistant General Manager/Ticket Sales & Operations Erik Ibsen said, “We are extremely proud to announce this news with our fans. Opening Night was another reminder of how great our fans are and the team appreciates the tremendous support. With only 10 home games in the first two months of the season, we will continue to sell ticket plans well into the season and look to add to the record number of season tickets.”

Single-game tickets for the 2011-12 season are also available now by phone (419) 725-WALL or online at www.toledowalleye.com. The team will host their second home game of the year this Saturday, October 22 at 7:00 p.m. as they take on the South Carolina Stingrays.

**The Toledo Walleye play all of their home games at the Huntington Center in downtown Toledo. The Walleye are the proud ECHL affiliate of the 2010 Stanley Cup Champion Chicago Blackhawks and the Detroit Red Wings.
