December 18, 2011 Movie: Christmas with the Kranks (2004) An American comedy film directed by Joe Roth and starring Tim Allen and Jamie Lee Curtis. The screenplay was written by Chris Columbus and is based on the 2001 novel Skipping Christmas by John Grisham. A break from the frenetic activity that surrounds Christmas is what Luther (Tim Allen) and Nora (Jamie Lee Curtis) Krank have in mind when they decide that, for once, they’ll skip the holiday. They’ll nix the tree, all the ornament and their rooftop Frosty. They’ll even forgo the chore of hosting their annual Christmas Eve bash. That’s the plan, anyway.
