St. John's Jesuit Presents A Tale Of Two Toledos
St. John’s Jesuit hosts an exciting new event, A Tale of Two Toledos on Saturday, February 11 from 6:30 p.m. to Midnight. The evening promises great food, fun and frolic to benefit St. John’s Jesuit student programs and scholarships. Before the event, SJJ is hosting a Mass in the SJJ Chapel at 5:30 p.m. Doors open for the event in SJJ's Carty Fox Commons at 6:30 p.m.
Of special interest will be the creative culinary talents of noted Executive Chef Chris Nixon , a 2004 graduate of St. John’s Jesuit who is the proprietor of The Boathouse in Coldwater, Michigan. Chef Nixon was trained at the French Culinary Institute in New York, and worked for Tom Colicchio of Craft Restaurant in NYC. Colicchio is noted as a judge on the Bravo Channel’s Top Chef. His highly-acclaimed restaurant is a fine-dining destination for those living in Ohio, Michigan and Indiana.
A Tale of Two Toledos includes a live auction with exciting travel and dining packages to prime locations including A Night Out at Colicchio’s Craft Restaurant in New York City; A week in Paradise at Culebra Island, Puerto Rico; Up North All Season Condo at Boyne Mountain Resort's new Boyne Mountain Creekside development. Guests will also enjoy competing for other fabulous live auction packages that include: The Ultimate Notre Dame Football Fan Experience with four tickets to a game of choice for the Fall 2012 season; A Very Special Graduation Package for parents of Seniors; A Night Out with SJJ's Mr. Sunshine - Bill Harrison; and The Perfect Puppy Package with an irresistible purebred, AKC-registered Yor-Coton du Tulear puppy!
A silent auction will feature fun items designed to please including A Girl's Night Out package; A Very Fashionable Toledo package with gift certificates to leading retailers; tickets to a preseason Chicago Bears game; a makeover package; and bracelets, baubles and jewels from David Fairclough Jewelers. The evening includes a reverse raffle with a $2,000 grand prize that will be drawn at 11 p.m. For more fun, guests can also play games of chance and compete in the Racing of the Bulls. Music from Skoobie Snaks will keep the evening lively.
Patron packages, ranging from $5,000 to $1,000, are available now from the SJJ Advancement Office. Individual tickets are on sale at $40 for dinner only, or $60 for dinner and a raffle ticket package. After January 24, tickets are $50 for dinner only and $70 for the dinner and raffle package.
A Tale of Two Toledos is chaired by Mrs. Kiran Rai and Mrs. Judy Parikh, who are leading a group parent volunteers in organizing this special event.
