Library Offers Whence You Came Genealogy Program
(Released January 31, 2012) – In observance of the Sesquicentennial of the Emancipation Proclamation, The Art Tatum African American Resource Center presents WHENCE YOU CAME, an African American Genealogy program scheduled from 1-3 p.m. on Saturday, February 18 at the Tatum Center located inside the Kent Branch Library @CCESS Center, 3101 Collingwood Blvd.
This unique program is designed for any family interested in tracing their African American history and genealogy. Donna Christian, from Main Library’s Local History and Genealogy Department, is scheduled to demonstrate research tips and techniques to help your search yield the best results.
Bring the entire family, or your family’s history keeper to this program and learn something about “whence you came.”
This program is FREE and open to the public.
