Germanfest in Dundee, MI

Tickets are now on sale for the The Old Mill Museum’s 15th annual GermanFest. The GermanFest will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 3, 2012 at the Old Mill Banquet Hall/Community Center in Dundee, Michigan.

Museum members and volunteers will prepare a traditional homemade German dinner. The menu includes roast port, bratwurst, spaetzle, red cabbage, German potato salad, saurkraut, bread and dessert. The meal will be served from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Advance purchase tickets are $23. Tickets the day of the event will be $25.

Encore will provide music beginning at 7:30 p.m., with dancing beginning shortly after. This group is based in Northwest Ohio, and provides a wonderful variety of dance tunes including many traditional German favorites.

A cash bar will be available and will offer German beer and wine, and soft drinks.

GermanFest tickets can be purchased at the Old Mill Museum during it’s regular hours, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday 12 noon – 4:00 p.m., or by calling (734) 529-8596 during those same hours.

The Old Mill is located at 242 Toledo Street at the corner of M-50, along the River Raisin, in Dundee, Michigan. All profits from this event are used by the Old Mill Museum to maintain the Old Mill and operate the museum. The museum contains interesting displays of the history of the building itself, life in 19th century Dundee, and a beautiful Native American exhibit. Group tours and alternate hours are available by appointment.
