(Released February 22, 2012) – Text your best friends! Hit up your top five on your mobile phones. E-mail your classmates, tag your Close Friends on Facebook, or send a Twitter tweet! Spread the word about the Toledo-Lucas County Public Library’s Teen Tech Week!

What is Teen Tech Week? The observance (March 4-10) invites public library patrons to Geek Out @ Your Library! Organized primarily by the Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA), a division of the American Library Association, this week encourages libraries to throw open their physical and virtual doors to teens and showcase the outstanding technology they offer, from services such as homework help and digital literacy-focused program to resources like e-books, movies, music, gaming, audiobooks, databases and more.

Various area branch locations will celebrate the annual public library observance which runs March 4-31. Our grand observance of this spotlight on community teens will be a Digital Photo Collage Contest designed for Grades 6-12. The Library is dedicated to addressing the interest of teens, one of the largest age categories in Lucas County! (Source: 2010 U.S. Census)
