Gearing Up For the 2012 Showcase Sylvania Expo
The 2012 FREE “Showcase Sylvania” Business Expo will be held on March 24, 2012 from 9:00 AM until 3:00 PM at the Sylvania Sports and Exhibition Center at Tam-O-Shanter, 7060 Sylvania Avenue, Sylvania, Ohio featuring representation from OVER 160 area businesses.
Last year over 4000 people attended the one-day event. Chamber Executive Director Pat Nowak states “The Chamber recognized ten years ago that it is important to highlight regional businesses and the expo is the perfect venue. It gives all businesses a face in the community, is an effective use of advertising and allows interaction one on one with residents and other businesses.”
Featured this year is the ProMedica Health Pavilion offering free blood glucose screenings, BMI and body fat screenings, blood pressure screenings and bone density screenings. There will be important informative booths about cancer, strokes, surgical services, rehab, home health care and more. Additionally, an ambulance will be on site staffed by the Transportation Network Team who will be conducting tours of the ambulance.
The Taste of Sylvania is a great a part of “Showcase Sylvania.” Giant Eagle, local restaurants and coffee shops offer fresh ideas for entertaining, dinner and healthy alternatives meals.
Part of the fun at the expo is the giveaways and great interactive games that many of the vendors bring. This year the expo again has designed a children’s area featuring YMCA/JCC, Little Miracle’s, Over the Rainbow Day Care, Sandra Gratop and The Bouncee Thing, Franciscan Academy and the Toledo Public Library. Entertainment will be provided by America’s Pride, Jean Holden, Off Broadway dancers and El Corazon de Mexico and more.
Free parking for the expo is on-site at Tam-O-Shanter as well as at Olander Park, Southview High School and Boulevard Church of Christ.
The Sylvania Area Chamber of Commerce produces Showcase Sylvania Expo with tremendous cooperation from businesses.
