Starlene Burkett was diagnosed with BRCA 1, a genetic form of cancer that is very aggressive;her friends, families and members ofFamilies Curing Cancer are hosting a family fundraiser on March 24 from 6 – 10 PM at Sunrise Park & Banquet Center1460 Woodville Road,Millbury, Ohio 43447.Events include live music, children activities, and a Taco Bar (cash bar also available), as well as a raffle with great prizes such as a mountain bike, a weekend getaway to a waterpark, and scores of other items.Live music will be provided by Gene Zenz and followed by Polka Floyd.Tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for children and are available online at:http://familiescuringcancer-efbevent.eventbrite.com/.Cash donations are also accepted through the website.Additional questions?Call(419) 531-2500
Starlene and her family are having a rough stretch of life.She has 4 kids, the youngest just turned a year old in January , the twins are 11, and the oldest is 16 yr. Starlene has worked as an Occupational Therapy Assistant, and have helped people of all ages and deficits try and regain independence as much as possible; now she is the other end of it.This event will raise money to fight the mounting expenses associated with the life changing endeavor.
