Murder Can Be Habit Forming

Generally when one takes a bus on a trip or vacation they expect to meet different people and see new things. This particular bus leads nine strangers on an unforgettable journey of thrills, suspense, and comical circumstances as they find themselves stranded by a blizzard at a secluded convent in a not-so-conventional situation.

The “Mary Murderer” has struck again, and there are far more questions than answers. What was once a peaceful convent has quickly turned into a sanctuary for frightened passengers and an obsessive killer. Coincidently, most of the women are named Mary, including the sisters of the convent; Pearl Borton (Napoleon), Karen Grieser (Hamilton, IN), Kim Favourite (Bryan) and Susan Short and Samantha Sorge (Wauseon). Who is the perpetrator? Could it be the college professor (John Taquino, Archbold), the bus driver (Bill Phelps, Archbold), the convent handyman (Jeff Patterson, Archbold), the punk rock musician (Kim Semer, Bryan), one of the other passengers on the bus (Susan Dominique and Teresa Van Sickle of Archbold, Michelle Johnson and Angelina Sorge of Wauseon and Randy Stuckey of West Unity) or the mysterious visitor (Shawn Liechty of Pettisville)?

The only one who knows the truth is the guilty party. “Holy” smoke…what a nightmare!

Luckily, Lt. McDougal (Phil Ennen, Bryan), also on the bus, takes charge of the case.

Murder Can Be Habit Forming is being directed by Steve Van Sickle (Archbold) and he is assisted by Ryan Mooney (Continental). They are both very excited about the show and their cast and can’t wait to see the show come to life.

Van Sickle says, “Fish-out-of-water scenarios often result in very funny situations; in this case, a serial killer loose in a convent! It sounds bizarre, but this wonderfully written script has it all…comedy, drama, romance and mystery all rolled into one with a cast of extremely unique characters.”

The large cast includes several ACT regulars, as well as a number of talented returnees and newcomers. Make plans now to attend Murder Can Be Habit Forming. Show dates are March 23, 24, 30 and 31 at 8 PM and April 1 at 2:30 PM at Giffey Hall in Ridgeville Corners. Tickets can be ordered by calling Diane Phelps at 419-267-5717 on Monday-Friday from 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM. Ticket prices are $8 senior/student presale, $9 adult presale and all tickets are $10 at the door.

“As they say,” Van Sickle noted, “getting there is half the fun!”
