Toledo School for the Arts Gives Up Shoes for
One Day Without Shoes
Toledo School for the Arts (TSA) will be showing their support of TOMS Shoes One Day Without Shoes by giving up their shoes! Students have planned art and fund raising events during school hours.
Students, teachers and staff will go barefoot at TSA by donating a dollar, or by bringing in a pair of new/gently used shoes for donation to a local shelter, raising awareness of this important day!
This year TSA has extended the day to partner with the Toledo Botanical Gardens for a barefoot walk through the Gardens from 4 pm to 7 pm. The Gardens will also serve as a collection site for new or gently used shoes. The public is invited to walk – with or without shoes. Just show your support for children in need.

Sponsored by TOMS Shoes, the company created this event to "raise awareness of the impact a pair of shoes can have on a child's life by taking off our own." TOMS is a for-profit shoe company that donates a pair of shoes to a child in a poverty-stricken country for every pair purchased.

TSA event schedule:
April 9th - 8:30 am to 10:30 am and 12:45 pm to 3:00 pm
Junior Division classes will be writing facts with chalk on TSA sidewalks.
April 9th and 10th - 11:00 am to 12:20 pm
Feet painting with TOMS logos.
April 10th
A $1 donation to go without shoes.
All donations will be sent to TOMS; last year we had about a 60% participation school wide.
April 10th from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm
Toledo Botanical Gardens walk and shoe donation location; open to all!
April 9th to 13th
In-school shoe donations for local charities. Collection boxes will be set up around the building.
