20 North/20 Years: the Debut Exhibit of our 20th Season
20 artists from the most iconic exhibitions of Toledo’s premier gallery
share their work in anniversary retrospective celebration
Toledo, OH—April 13, 2012. 20 North Gallery proudly announces the debut exhibit of their 20th season, “20 North / 20 Years,” beginning April 20, 2012 (in conjunction with the downtown Gallery Loop) and concluding with a Gala Anniversary Reception on Friday, May 25th. The gallery will be hosting an open house from 6:30 – 11p.m. on Friday, April 20th for the Bus Loop participants.
20 artists, in a retrospective exhibit representing the Gallery’s most iconic exhibitions of the past two decades, will display paintings, drawings, sculpture, prints, glass, jewelry and photography in celebration of the power of art as a cultural and economic driver in Toledo.
In 1992, St. Clair Street was virtually abandoned, now it is a thriving arts/entertainment zone and "Arts Hotspot" in the downtown landscape. 20 North Gallery was the pioneer in this location—and was so successful at attracting people who had never been downtown before—that their section of downtown became the home of the new stadium, the new arena, restaurants, shops and other destination points in the Toledo community. 20 North Gallery is now the oldest, independent gallery in Toledo.
Among the exhibit’s 20 participating artists are: Leslie Adams, Kimberly Arden, Dr. Mike Basista, Aaron S. Bivins, Michelle Carlson, Wil Clay, Steven Conine, Joe Ann Cousino, Adam Grant, Peggy Grant, Philip Hazard, Skot Horn, Tom McGlauchlin, Elaine Mikel, Kelly Sheehan, Michael Sheets, Joseph Sheppard, Mike Sohikian and Bruce Works, as well as David J. Eichenberg—who, in addition to his exhibited work, will be unveiling a new painting at the May 25th Gala Anniversary Reception.
20 North Gallery, the exhibiting artists and Art Director Peggy Grant, will be welcoming friends and collectors at the free Gala Anniversary Reception on Friday, May 25th, from 6 - 9p.m. Reception attendees can celebrate the debut of 20 North Gallery’s 20th season by enjoying light refreshments, reminiscences of past exhibits and conversations highlighting the future plans of the gallery and these distinguished artists.
