Lourdes University Spring Choral Concert May 6, 7 pm
Broadway’s best tunes featured in Lourdes University’s spring choral concert
Lourdes University’s Department of Music is pleased to present its annual spring choral concert on Sunday, May 6. This year’s concert, “Choral Classics and Broadway’s Best,” will take place in the Franciscan Center at 7 p.m.
Join Lourdes’ Chorus, Good Company Ensemble and soloists on a fast ride through western choral music history and a selection of some of Broadway’s most memorable melodies, culminating in a “Sing-Along Sound of Music” finale.
The choirs, directed by Karen T. Biscay and accompanied by Olga Topuzova-Meade, will offer music from the 9th through late 20th Century by Josquin des Prez, Mozart, Pitoni, Handel, Rachmaninoff, and the prolific Anonymous, as well as tuneful medleys from Irving Berlin, Jule Styne, the Gershwins, Jason Robert Brown and Rodgers & Hammerstein.
