Registration Now Open for Free Children’s Glass Workshops
Toledo-area children invited to help create an
“out of this world” glass installation as part of the
Toledo Glass Art Society’s 42nd Annual Conference

(May 4, 2012) Four, three, two, one…. BLAST OFF! In celebration of the 50th anniversary of the American studio glass movement, students from across Toledo are invited to help create an “out of this world” space-themed glass installation at the Toledo School for the Arts.

The free glass workshops are being held at the Toledo School for the Arts (TSA) in conjunction with the Glass Art Society’s (GAS) 42nd Annual conference, being hosted June 13-16, 2012 at the Seagate Convention Center and Toledo Museum of Art.

Workshops will kick off on Monday, June 11 and run throughout the week, with times and days varying depending on the workshop selected. Workshops will be led by artists with Bullseye Glass Co, a leading manufacturer of colored glass, and Brazee Street Studios School of Glass, a noted glass school out of Cincinnati, Ohio. Children in the workshops will have the opportunity to participate in the creation of one of a kind, “kid-formed” glass installation about outer space.

Glass workshops will be offered:

4th – 8th Grade | Outer Space Workshop: Monday & Tuesday, 10am-3pm and Wednesday, 10am-12pm

All materials included. Students are asked to pack a bag lunch. Limited to 12 students

Kindergarten – 3rd Grade | Outer Space Workshop: Thursday – Friday, 10am – 3pm and Saturday, 10am-12pm

All materials included. Students are asked to pack a bag lunch. Limited to 12 students

Kindergarten – 8th Grade | Star Workshop: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, 1pm – 3pm

Students must register for a 30 minute timeslot (i.e. 1:30pm, 2pm). All materials included.

There is no cost to participate. Advanced registration is required as space is limited.
