My Special Agent Releases Self-Titled EP
My Special Agent is a starburst of pop culture allegory that has been described as “a cross-genre, cult is classic, cataclysm of sound that is as unforgettable as it is unique” with "spacey soundscapes and techno-lyrics that sublimely swirl together to take the listener out of this world into an all-too-real-fantasy role-playing-game soundtrack." Fueled by comic books, history channel documentaries and science fiction, and raised in the doggedly persistent, self-deprecating shadow of the Great Lakes, My Special Agent’s metaphors run the gamut from Battlestar Galactica to Katherine of Aragon.
This Toledo geek-rock band features current and former members of Flamtronic, LaserLove5, the Infernal Names, Warshack Jazz, and Hemline Theory. Their first, self-titled EP, will be released Saturday, June 16, 2012 at the Ottawa Tavern in Toledo, Ohio. One of their songs has chosen as theme song for "The Book Report" podcast (available on iTunes) and has also been featured in "Cool Music Inspired by Comic Books" on Crave Online, 6.8.12.
