Spider-Man at 50 Featuring Jim Beard
The Toledo-Lucas County Public Library invites all to celebrate SPIDER-MAN at 50! with local comic book writer and historian Jim Beard scheduled from 6:30-8 p.m. next Tuesday, June 19 in the McMaster Center at Main Library, 325 Michigan St.
Spidey’s fifty and still amazing! Join Beard for a look back at the history of our favorite web slinger and meet special videoconference guest Mark Waid, an American comic book writer! This event is FREE and open to the public.
Special videoconference guest Mark Waid: Mark Waid has written a wider variety of well-known characters than any other American comics author, from Superman to the Justice League to Spider-Man to Archie and hundreds of others. His award-winning graphic novel with artist Alex Ross, KINGDOM COME, is one of the best-selling comics of all time.
He is respected for his amazing knowledge of comic trivia and has scripted titles such as Superman: Birthright; Marvel Comics’ Captain America, and more!
