Computer Works of Toledo Featured in Small Business Review
Computer Works of Toledo is featured in the June Issue of Abec's Small Business Review. In the article, CWT Solutions Advisor, Mike Bentz, talks of 'What Computer Works Offers that the Big Chains Do Not.'
Abec's Small Business Review's Kristy Erdodi writes:
Mike Bentz, Computer Works of Toledo’s client solutions advisor, knows that most people choose to shop at places like Staples or OfficeMax because of one-stop convenience. “When a company is ordering office supplies – needs pads, papers, paper clips, what have you – and also needs toner, they’re just buying all of that at once,” he said. But Mike also says that these consumers are missing out on the personal service, green initiatives and local economy support that only Computer Works can offer.
Computer Works is a full-service network and computer support services company, offering a full technical staff to support small to medium business IT environments. It also sells printing supplies. “We handle pretty much anything for copiers, faxes, printers. We can get those supplies no matter what you have,” said Mike. He delivers ordered products for free, typically within two business days.
Aside from personal delivery, clients also get personal service. For example, all clients get Mike’s cell phone number. “Ninety-nine percent of my customers call me on my cell phone,” he said. That means if a client ever gets a defective product, they can call him directly. “You have a defective one, you call me; it’s handled immediately,” he said. Most clients will see him that day with a replacement product.
Computer Works does what it can to minimize defective products. Some companies recycle cartridges simply by refilling and then selling them, without considering whether they have worn-out parts or additional issues. Computer Works only sells compatibles that are remanufactured or manufactured from virgin parts.
The company provides another option for clients to be green, without affecting the quality of their purchases. It picks up clients’ empty cartridges upon delivering new products. “All of the empties get shipped back to a recycling center so they don’t end up in the landfills,” said Mike. “So that’s our way of being green.”
Clients of Computer Works can also help the local economy. “When you buy cartridges through Computer Works you’re supporting the Toledo economy, and when you’re buying them from Staples or you’re buying them online with Quill or whoever that may be, that money’s going to wherever their corporate headquarters are and a lot of times that’s not benefitting the local economy,” said Mike. He and his team encourage those in need of printer, fax and copier products or services to “think locally and think Computer Works of Toledo” before considering chain stores.
