SoundTrek Offers a Musical Journey

Downtown SoundTrek is The Arts Commission's latest addition to the Live Work Create Toledo initiative. The program is designed to celebrate Toledo's rich legacy as a live music town. Featuring a wide variety of local musicians and DJs, as well as premier Downtown live music and dance venues, SoundTrek offers visitors the opportunity to experience a cross-section of the live entertainment available in Toledo in a single evening. For the price of one wristband, guests get access to multiple live music venues, 30-plus musicians and bands, and shuttle rides between stops.

SoundTrek 2012 will take place in the UpTown Arts & Entertainment District along the Adams Street Corridor on Friday, July 20, from 8:30 p.m. to 1 a.m. This year's event features 11 diverse local venues, including the corner park at the Toledo-Lucas County Main Public Library, Glass City Cafe, Toledo City Paper parking lot, Wesley's Bar, Manos Community Garden presented by Toledo Botanical Garden, Toledo School for the Arts, Manhattan's Restaurant, The Attic on Adams, The Truth Art Gallery, Ottawa Tavern, and Bretz. More than 30 local, live music acts will perform, representing genres from rock, pop, and hip-hop, to country, blues, jazz, folk and ethnic, R&B, and much more.

A full schedule of featured entertainment will be available soon online. The event schedule, map, and information about entertainment will be available at all venues the evening of the event in the SoundTrek program.

SoundTrek wristbands are onsale now at The Arts Commission offices, 1838 Parkwood Ave., #120, Toledo, OH 43604, and will be available soon at all participating locations and select retailers.
